Carlo Chu lifts AACI Trading to post its 4th straight victory with 31 points over Organic Solutions, 84-77, while JSY Countertrade hold off AACI Transport, 66-63, in the 2nd conference Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Color basketball tournament at the Po Hang Gym of BTTHS.

Chu scored 15 points in the 1st quarter for AACI Trading lead, 23-9 advantage while teammate Jan Jan Young added 2 triples.

Organic Solutions Julius Teruel and Dante Ma combined for 17 points to draw closer at the break, 39-31 even as Mark Binguan had 6 points for AACI Trading.

All is set for the “Cinco de Nobyiembre“ marathon relay on November 5, 2017 from Manapla town to the Provincial Capitol Lagoon in Bacolod City.

According to the Provincial Sports Office, there are twelve runners in each team including male and female alternates.

The original runners are four females and six males. The runners will cover the 41.99 kilometers from Manapla to Provincial Capitol Lagoon with ten relay points.

Three persons, including a minor died in separate mishaps involving motorcycles in Ilog town and Bacolod City.

Police Chief Inspector Nerito Lobrido, Ilog PNP chief identified the victim as Mamerto Flaviano, 16, of Barangay Canlamay, Ilog town, Negros Occidental. He sustained injuries with the most fatal one on his head and was declared dead on arrival at the nearest hospital.

Flaviano’s driven motorcycle collided with an Isuzu dumptruck driven by Francis Timot, 56, of Purok Paglaum, Barangay Dancalan, Ilog.

The family of the slain student of Central Philippine State University-Hinigaran Campus allegedly refused to bury him without attaining justice for his death.

The victim was identified as Carlson Alvarez, 23, single, of Barangay Nanunga, Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental, 2nd year college taking up Hotel & Restaurant Management.

He was killed last September 23.

Report said the suspect responsible for his death is the Blood Line Gang in the town.

It was learned that the victim was killed on a whim by the suspects.*(CMG)

A notorious hold up suspect was arrested by Police Station 6 operatives in Purok Sunrise, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City after he was served with an arrest warrant.

Police Senior Inspector Jovel Sedel, Police Station 6 head identified the suspect as Rodio Ilustrad Tico, 30.

He was the co-hort of Alex Barredo “Alias Rondoy” who staged several hold up incidents in Bacolod City.

Judge Montano Medel, Jr. issued an arrest warrant for the suspect for robbery and recommended P12, 000 bail bond for his temporary liberty.

Talisay City PNP authorities are conducting investigation on the mysterious death of a 19-year-old male found in Purok Sigay, Barangay Zone 3, Talisay City around 7:00 a.m. Sunday.

The victim was later identified by police authorities, according to Superintendent Adonis Rosales, as Orlando Salazar Jr., whose body was found in a nipa plantation in the area already in a state of decomposition.

He sustained a lone hack wound on his back.

According to his mother the victim was last seen roaming in the fish port two days before his body was found.

Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor on October 9, 2017 announced that the relaunch of the Tigkalalag Festival will be on October 31-November 2, 2017.

He said that municipal government is preparing for the activity to make the relaunch of the said festival grand and memorable.

The Tigkalalag festival has been shelved in the past four years due to a change in the leadership of the municipal government.

He recalled that the Tigkalag festival has become a trademark for the town.

The president of Anti-Crime and Terrorism-Community Investigative Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list and a businessman survived an assassination attempt along Liroville Subdivision (near Aboy’s Restaurant) at Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City around 3:10 a.m. yesterday, Tuesday.

Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Police Station 8 chief identified the victim as Joseph Nazareno, 45, married, of Lizares Subdivision, Barangay Taculing. He was unhurt but his gray Montero Sport was damaged with several gunshot holes on its windshield and side.

In Negros Occ. there are more than 60,000 GSIS members including pensioners.

During a recent briefing to Information Officers, Rosenie Chavez, GSIS Division Chief for Billing, Collection and Reconciliation said the insurance membership now total 1,569,912 nationwide. Old age pensioners account for 15 percent or 278,000 while survivorship pension make-up six percent or 122,000.

The more than 1.5 million active members make up 79 percent of the total members of the state run insurance.
