The Army Recruitment Office -Visayas will conduct the Pre-entry Examination on Armed Forces Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) on October 11 to 13, 2017 (Wednesday and Thursday). the examination will be conducted at the 542 Engineering Construction Battalion, and 53 Engineering Brigade at Sitio Tuyuman, Brgy. Caradio-an, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Examinations will be offered for the Officer Candidate Course (OCC), Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) and Candidate Soldier Course (CSC).

Quyalified to take the exam are those aged 18 to 28 years old.

Negros Occidental’s Panaad sa Negros Festival was named Grand Winner and Hall of Fame Awardee for the Best Tourism Event (Festival Category) during the Department of Tourism - Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (DOT-ATOP) Pearl Awards held at Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City, Friday.

The award was received by Negros Occ. Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and Panaad Festival Executive Director, Dr. Ma. Lina Sanogal, together with other delegation from the province.

Sanogal said that the award is significant as Panaad Festival is celebrating its 25th year in 2018.

Other winners from Negros Occidental were Sipalay Kite Festival, grand winner for Best Tourism Event (Sports Category); Sagay City, grand winner for Best Tourism Month Celebration (City Category); Suyac Island Journey: Coastal Communities Resources Advocacies to Boost Sustainability, grand winner for Best Practices on Community-based Responsible Tourism; Sipalay City, first runner-up for Best Tourism Month Celebration (City Category); Victorias Agri-Ecotourism Enhancement Program, second runner-up for Best Practices on Community-based Responsible Tourism; Silay Heritage Program, second runner-up for Best Community-based Heritage Conservation Project - City Category; and Cadiz City, second runner-up for Best Tourism-Oriented LGU (City Category), among others.

Considering the use of rugby by street children, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod through the resolution of Councilor Caesar Distrito, is reiterating its call ON the police and the City’s Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Office of the City Mayor, to urgently act and create measures in curtailing it.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) aimed at establishing a modern hospital in Victorias City will be signed by the Government of Victorias and Memphis Mission of Mercy at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 9.

The proposed medical health facility will help provide advanced and state of the art modern technology beneficial to the people of Victorias and surrounding communities and other parts of the region.

This was the instruction of Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, the Acting City Director of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to his men, following the confiscation of several weapons from MassKara revelers despite the repeated police warnings.

With the strong call for the massive resignation of national sports association heads, Weightlifting Association of the Philippines president Monico Puentevella on Thursday said that he’s willing to resign from office if everyone decides to step down.

“We will discuss this in the general assembly. Though I have my doubt if this will be done soon as other officials may not agree,” said Puentevella, who is attending the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) General Assembly at Century Park Hotel.
