A stroke victim was found floating in the river of Sitio Mahuyab-huyab, Barangay San Rafael, Hinoba-an town, Negros Occ. around 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police Senior Inspector Leomel Gonzaga, Hinobaan PNP chief identified the victim as Greg Librea, 57, married, of Purok 4, Barangay Po-ok, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.

Investigation disclosed that the victim was found by Danny Elardes and other farmers in the river.

The victim was temporarily residing in a hut owned by his son Edwin Librea, 34, who reported the incident to police.

Aside from the 6-year old boy who died after the motorcycle and Nissan Pathfinder pick-up collision, the motorcycle driver also died in the hospital where they were brought Saturday evening.

The incident happened at Bangga Tagnipis in Hacienda Amparo, Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City around 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

The Negros Trade Fair, the country’s longest-running provincial trade fair held annually in Metro Manila since 1985 will kick off tomorrow, Sept. 27, 207 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati.

Mary Ann Colmenares of the Association of Negros Producers said that the “Negros Trade Fair continues to provide small and medium enterprises of Negros a venue to showcase their individual ingenuity and a platform for possible export trade.”

The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) in Negros Occidental is “looking for the opportune time” to recruit more members into the party, Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said.

Lacson said that they are aware that there will be a mass oath-taking of 9,000 new members into the ruling PDP-Laban on October 5 in Victorias City.

“Maybe after the mass oath taking we will see if there are still available politicians willing to transfer to NPC,” the Vice Governor pointed out.

Lacson denied that he is the new provincial chairman of the NPC.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Silver Masskara Foundation head Eli Francis Tajanlangit, concurrently 2017 MassKara Festival director, launched yesterday morning, September 25, at the NGC lobby, the logo and music theme for this year’s MassKara festival celebration which runs October 1 to 22.

The music was composed and arranged by Roberto ‘Bob’ Aves, while the logo was a creation of Mark Lester Jarmin.

A laborer survived for the second time attempt in his life by his neighbour around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Sitio Indangawan, Barangay Manlucahoc, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.

Inspector Romeo Vargas, OIC police chief identified the victim as William Dela Rosa Bucar, 49, married, resident of the place.

Bucar sustained a gunshot wound on his right contusion collar that exited on his back. He was brought by members of Sipalay City Rescue to Sipalay City Satellite Health Unit for his immediate medical treatment.

Three passengers including the driver were injured after his driven tricycle collided with a Ceres bus around 6:30 a.m. at National Road, Crossing Ambush, Barangay Manalad, Ilog town, Negros Occidental.

Inspector Nerito Lobrido, Ilog PNP OIC police chief identified the victims as Francisco Tabucon, 45, married, tricycle driver; Jay Estosa, 37, married, laborer and Alano Matunding, 38, married, laborer - all residents of Barangay Camugao, Kabankalan City.They sustained severe injuries; and damage to the tricycle.

The driver of a Prime Mover was electrocuted while fixing his electrical connection in Purok Paglaum, Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City around 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Sagay City PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Lemuel Laniohan, 30, married, resident of the place.

His wife told police that her husband was cutting a PVC that holds the wire to replace it with bamboo. While cutting the PVC, he did not know that it touched a live wire connected to the one he was holding.

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 launched the Smoke Free Camp at Camp Delgado, Iloilo City, yesterday, September 25, 2017, in support to the executive order from President Rodrigo Duterte banning smoking in public places and workplace. The event was witnessed by Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force (ICAST) Executive Director Mr. Iñigo Garingalao, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, regional director led the signing of pledge of commitment, followed by all officers and personnel of the region.
