Police investigator of Candoni PNP is eyeing land conflict in the stabbing to death of a laborer. His body was found 9:20 a.m. Monday in Sitio Kalag-Kalag, Barangay Caningay, Candoni, Negros Occ.
Police Senior Inspector Jaynick Bermudez, Candoni police chief identified the victim as Jugie Dequilme Yap, 36, single, “Alyas Dodie“, native of Isabela town and temporarily residing in the said place.
The victim sustained at least seven stab wounds on his chest, upper back, right shoulder and right leg.
A 22-year-old woman was raped by his neighbour at her house in Purok Caimito in Barangay Zone 4, Pulupandan town, Negros Occ. around 11:00 p.m. Monday.
Pulupandan police identified the victim as a certain “Rose” (not her real name).
Police identified the suspect as Melster Arnido Robete, 37, married.
The suspect reportedly entered the house of the victim who was alone that time.
Twin brothers were arrested in drug buy bust at Canetown Subdivision, Barangay19-A in Victorias City, Negros Occidental around 10:05 p.m. Monday.
Superintendent German Garbosa, Victorias City PNP chief identified the suspects as Jeffry and Jason Belnas Arojo, 35, single, of the said address.

The Sugar Alliance of the Philippines (SAP) has vowed to support Hermenegildo Serafica, the newly appointed head of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA).
Lawyer Emilio Yulo, spokesperson of the SAP yesterday said that while he has not yet an official confirmation of the appointment of Serafica by President Rodrigo Duterte to the SRA, “we welcome the development especially with the opening of the new milling season.”
“We hope that the appointment will enable SRA to have a fresh start,” Yulo said.
September 24 and 30 are the dates to mark for Ceres Negros FC home fans as the busmen plays at the Philippines Football League (PFL) at Panaad Park and Stadium. The set of games at home will give Ceres the chance to earn as much points when they face Global FC Cebu and Ilocos United.
Currently the busmen ranked at fourth place in the league standings with 28 points while the tournament leader FC Meralco Manila remains on top with 41 points but has played 6 more games than that of the Bacolod team.
