Club Chaiman Leo Rey Yanson thanked the Negrense home crowd for supporting the home team Ceres Negros FC as they exited their campaign in the AFC Cup recently. Yanson said that the club reached the ASEAN Zonal Championship and it has been the goal of the busmen to make history along with the undying support of the home fans and everyone who rooted for Ceres.

A five-year-old boy survived when he was bumped by a Mitsubishi L300 aluminum van along Kilometer 59 in Purok Caimito, Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto town, Negros Occ. around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Police Senior Inspector Joevito Bose, Don Salvador Benedicto PNP chief identified the victim as Mark Spencer Montilla, of Purok Cauayan, Barangay Bunga.

The driver of L300 van is Michael John Damo-os Muyco, 27, single, of Purok Balungay, Barangay 28, Bacolod City.

The Office of Civil Defense-Negros Island Region (OCD-NIR) will be closing on September 19, its Office–in-Charge Aleta Nogra said.

In a notice sent to its stakeholders, Nogra said OCD NIR will be officially closed late this month to give time for the preparation of clearance and terminal report to be submitted to the Central Office before September 30.

Because of this move, all Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Civil Defense programs, projects and activities shall be reverted to OCD Regional Offices VI and VII respectively, she said.

Two salesmen were held up by two unidentified suspects riding in-tandem on a motorcycle of cash; reams of cigarettes and personal belongings along Isabela-Hinigaran road in Sitio Linao, Barangay Bato, Hinigaran town, Negros Occ. around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Police Chief Inspector Jake Barilla, Hinigaran OIC Police chief identified the victims as Eliseo Mario Barayoga, Jr., 43, married, of RGG Housing, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City and Melogie Deocadez Erojo, 31, married, of Sunset Village in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Four wanted persons were arrested in separate police operations of Cadiz City PNP in the City on Wednesday.

The suspects were identified as Ramil Espina Flores, 38, married, construction worker, of Purok Housing in Barangay Banquerohan; Ricky Caracas Laurente, 45, widow, driver, and Felix Villanueva Peña, 49, married, both of Hacienda Canibungan in Barangay Luna; and Tirso Mercado Flor, 36, single, of Seawahon III, Barangay VF Gustilo, all in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Flores was arrested around 5:00 p.m. at his house for violation of R.A. 7610.
