Reymund Severino was the champion in the Sugarbowl Tenpin Association, Inc. (STAI) Youth’s Bowling for a Cause Tournament on Sunday when he finished on top with 610 pin falls at Lopue’s East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

Home crowd went to Panaad Park and Stadium to cheer on the home team that faced FC Istikol yesterday. The busmen started the early going attempting to barge in Istikol’s defense but failed to keep off the visitors’ attacks towards their goal.

Geothermal leader Energy Development Corporation’s (EDC) has just been conferred its ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification for its Southern Negros Geothermal Project (SNGP) in Valencia, Negros Oriental, under the certifying body, TU¨V Rheinland.

Fishermen found a green sea turtle found floating at sea in Sipalay City around 7:30 a.m.. Monday while going ashore after fishing.

Fisherman Joey Lahaolahao, 39, married, of Campo Quino in Barangay 4, Sipalay City loaded the green turtle to his pumpboat after seeing it weak along with his brother and brought it to Sitio Pana-on, where he docked his pump boat.

He then reported it to their Purok President, Juliet Makilan who then informed police authorities.

A resident of Bacolod City was arrested with firearm along the corner of Bonifacio and Lizares Streets in BarangayZone-6, Talisay City, 11:00 a.m. Monday.

Superintendent Adonis Rosales, Talisay City PNP OIC police chief identified the suspect as Reymar Misa Costan, 25, married, of Purok Phase 6B, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City.

Police operatives were conducting “operation kap-kap” or “operation bakal” while celebrating the 18th Minuluan Festival in Talisay City, Negros Occidental that resulted to the arrest of suspect.

A motorcycle–riding person was killed when he collided with a Hyundai Accent vehicle at the access road of Silay-Bacolod Airport in the vicinity of Minulu-an in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental around 7:40 p.m. Monday.

Superintendent Adonis Rosales, Talisay City PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Rene Moralbe Samson, Jr., 36, married, of Hacienda Sta. Maria, Talisay City.

The Court of Appeals (CA) in Cebu reversed the decision of the Ombudsman to dismiss Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and his co-respondents for grave misconduct and gross neglect of duty.

In a September 6, 2017 promulgation signed by Associate Justices Germano Francisco D. Legaspi and Marilyn B. Lagura-Yap, and Executive Justice Gabriel T. Ingles of the 18th Division of CA-Cebu, the CA cited the Aguinaldo Doctrine is applicable in the defense and the merits of the case alone were already sufficient to exonerate him.

An experience while performing my job in the media that I consider really unforgettable was after my coverage of Typhoon Undang.

One time, after taking photo shots on the damages of the typhoon, I proceeded to the market to buy some foods for viand. Due to the strong winds my umbrella was also destroyed, so I was wet by the heavy rains. The t-shirt I wore was also wet.

Royal Star Trading routed Huminova Tigers, 67-46 while the Sweet Crystals Sugar came from behind to beat Basecom, 74-70 last Friday in the 2017 2nd Conference Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Richard Co and Efraim Valencia scored 8 each for Basecom to hold a 20-12 opening quarter advantage even as Joemarie Regalado also scored 8 points for Sweet Crystals Sugar.

Out of 263 entries from all over Negros Island, Victorias Milling Company (VMC) and VMC Foundation released the names of the 75 qualifiers in the 5th VMC Art Contest 2017.
