Some of these establishments do not even have business permits. Workers in these workplaces are suffering from cramped working conditions, lack of proper ventilation and long hours of work. They are exploited to the tilt like modern day slaves even if slavery has long been outlawed by our so-called civilized society.

A resident of Purok Talisay in Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City was killed after he was struck with an iron bar by his drunken neighbor around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz City PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Marvin Cortez Borda, 36, single, of Purok Talisay, Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City.
He sustained wounds in the upper eyelid, bridge of nose and left pre-auricular. He was brought to Cadiz City Emergency Clinic but died later.
Police identified the suspect as Danilo Wilgas Baling, 49, married, also resident of the place.
A senior citizen was killed and four other passengers injured after they were bumped by a motorcycle around 5:30 p.m. Sunday along the highway in Purok Ilawod, Barangay Napoles, Bago City.
Police Senior Inspector Hercules Trigue, Deputy Police Chief of Bago City identified the victim as Mila Cahilig Jarqueo, 65, widow, of Purok Ilawod, Barangay Napoles, Bago City.
A hacienda overseer in Talisay City was shot dead along the national highway of Barangay Marina in Binalbagan town, Negros Occ. around 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police Chief Inspector Anthony Grande, Binalbagan PNP OIC police chief identified the victim as Rolando Hermoso, 56, married, of Barangay Guintubhan, Isabela town. He sustained a gunshot wound in the head and died on the spot.
Grande said the victim alighted from a private vehicle and was shot by yet unidentified suspect. He believes that the suspect had a companion inside the car.
A drug suspect was arrested in a buy bust at 2:30 a.m. Monday in Purok Tamsic, Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra town, Negros Occidental.
Police Senior Inspector Ryan Salazar, Pontevedra PNP OIC police chief identified the suspect as Raphy Salmayor Casuya, 41, single, of Purok Tamsic, Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra.
Seized from his possession were; a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet as buy bust item in exchange of P300 marked money; one elongated and four small sachets of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.
A father and his two children were killed, while his live-in partner and another child were injured in a hacking incident in Sitio Cambugnay, Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana town, Negros Occidental around 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
Police Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, La Castellana PNP OIC police chief identified the victims as Luis Villahermosa Solis, 39, father; his children Marcelino Leones Solis, 11, and Lady Loisa Leones Solis, 6 - all of Sitio Cambugnay, Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana.
They sustained multiple hack wounds in the body and all died on the spot.
