Ceres-Negros FC moves into the next round of the AFC Cup after beating Home United in the second leg of the ASEAN Zonal Finals here at Home. Pana-ad Park and Stadium hosted a 7,500 crowd that went out to cheer for the busmen as the play one of the most important game to win in order for them to advance.

A resident of Barangay Rizal in San Carlos City was arrested with shabu worth P100,000 and a firearm Wednesday night at Phase 44, Block 9 in Fatima Village in Barangay Rizal.

Superintendent Arturo Fullero, OIC-chief of San Carlos PoliceOffice, together with opratives of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit led by Senior Inspector Ryan Villasario, arrested Charles Ian Abordo Alquizalas, 33, single and resident of the place in a drug buy bust operation.

Two illegal drug personalities were arrested in separate drug bust operations in Manapla town and in Silay City Wednesday.

Manapla Police commander, Chief Inspector Edencio Gregorio, named the suspect as Kelvin Onganon Ferrer, 24, married of Barangay 19-A, Cane town Subdivision, Victorias City.

Ferrer yielded three small heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu including the buy bust item in exchange for P500 marked money.

Also a big sachet of suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalias.

He is now detained at Manapla PNP lock up facility.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) recently announced that Riverside College ranked 4th place among 80 schools with students who took the Physical Therapy Licensure Examination this August 2017.

The top performing schools, per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series 2010 are:

Looks and sounds sadder.

The 32 regional offices of national agencies supposedly operating in the Negros Island Region or Region 18 started packing up yesterday, following President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s dismantling of the one-island NIR.

These regional offices are situated in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental and in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental.

Fourteen regional offices are in Bacolod and 16 in Dumaguete.

Two fires occurred early this week in Negros Occidental, one ate up a barangay hall in Bago City and another one razed two houses in Cadiz City Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Fire the Barangay Hall of Barangay Tabunan in Bago City and residential house in Cadiz City Wednesday and Tuesday respectively.

In Bago, Barangay Tabunan Captain Maria May Claridad Suarez said that she was only informed by her barangay tanods and utility worker that a fire razed their barangay hall at around 6:30 in the morning.

The Social Security System signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the local Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) in Bacolod City to formalize the coverage of about 80 Job Order (JO) and contractual workers thru the KaltaSSS Program held at the Pag-IBIG Fund Office, Bacolod City last Aug 7.

Hinoba-an Mayor Ernesto Estrao sees the Southern Negros Industrial Estate as “a path for progress and development” not only for the town but the whole Negros Occidental.

Estaro yesterday led members of his town’s Sanggunian Bayan (SB) in accepting a check of P20 million from Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr.

The amount will be used for the purchase of land for the relocation of residents facing displacement due to the planned establishment of an industrial estate in Brgy. Bacuyangan, the mayor said.

He also said that the site will accommodate 500 residents.
