The batch 9 of Basic Computer Training (BCT 9) will hold its graduation on August 11, 2017 (Friday 9:00 am) at Bacolod City Public Library, Hernaez-Araneta Sts. in this City headed by Librarian III Greta Memoria.

This Batch runs for 25 days under BCT Instructress Remia Quebrar since 2015 who teaches Word, Excel, Powepoint & Social Media.

The new graduates automatically become members of Friends of Bacolod City Public Library, Inc. (FBCPL), duly registered with Securities and Exchange Commission.

Crispulo Rosales had been a kite maker since the ’80s. He had been most of the time champion of contests and had been in several places just to fly his kites. Recently, after Congressman Greg Gasataya led the first Burador Festival at the NGC grounds, Rosales was once again on his groove to produce more kites with various designs.

A man ended his life by hanging in Sitio Pasil, Barangay 6-A, Victorias City. His body was found around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police Superintendent Herman Garbosa, Victorias City PNP chief identified the victim as Ronnie Evangelio Douglas, 43, single, of Zone 3, Sitio Pasil, Barangay 6-A, Victorias City.

The victim was discovered hanging in the beam of his aunt’s house, the late Lorna Douglas using a nylon rope.

Barangay Tanod Ricardo De Jesus informed the police regarding the incident, who immediately responded.

More or less P310, 000 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated from a drug pusher in a drug buy bust at Doña Juliana Drive in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Jovil Sedel, Police Station 6 chief identified the suspect as Don Ernst Sanglap Gonzales, 29, of Magsaysay Avenue, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.

Confiscated from Gonzales were 52 elongated and five big sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy bust item in exchange of P1, 200 marked money.

A drunk person who was passing a bridge in Purok Apitong, Barangay Tubtuban, Sibulan town, Negros Oriental was drowned after he fell to the bridge around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim was identified as Anthony Telar Arbon, 52, married, of Purok 7, Barangay Boloc-boloc, Sibulan town.

Police operatives said they received information on the said time and immediately responded to the area.

A tricycle driver was shot dead by unidentified suspect in Sitio Habag, Barangay Martilo, La Libertad town, Negros Oriental, around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Police Senior Inspector Enrique Asonio, La Libertad police chief identified the victim as Remie Domen Faburada, 38, married, of Sitio Lamacan in Barangay Malusay in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

Asonio said the victim was driving his tricycle with two female passengers to convey them to Jimalalud town from Guihulngan City passing La Libertad town.

To avoid penalty of P8,000.00, Isidro Sun, Jr., head of the Office of Building Official (OBO), is urging businessmen to secure necessary permits before operating their businesses.

He said, the architects and engineers of the buildings are aware that the establishments can not operate without occupancy permit from OBO.

Many establishments in the city without necessary building permits are not noticed due to lack of personnel to conduct inspections. More so that they are the same personnel who inspect occupancy permits, and those applying for occupancy permits.

The Bacolod City-based Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) and Dumaguete City-based Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NOCCI) yesterday issued a joint statement on the revocation of Executive Order No. 183 that created the Negros Island Region (Region 18).

Also, Negrosanon Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jesus V. Hinlo issued his own statement on the dissolution of the NIR by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Leaders from Negros Occidental and Oriental are seeing the positive side in the dissolution by President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday of the Negros Island Region (NIR) or Region 18 yesterday.

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., said the two Negros provinces “are partners whether there is a Negros Island Region or not. We are still one island.”
