Pass it Back is a Sport for Development program led by Childfund with the World Rugby, Asia Rugby and Women Win that introduces integrated life skills and Rugby Curriculum for children and young people in disadvantaged communities across Asia. Recently, a press confab with Childfund and members of the Rugby Team was held, leading the training for various children in communities in the country that has formed more than 200 teams to date, was in Talisay City for a sports clinic and pressfab.

Police operatives seized firearm, bullets, suspected shabu and dried marijuana leaves in a raid at a house located in Barangay 3 Poblacion, Moises Padilla town, Negros Occidental around 9:49 p.m. Monday.

Senior Inspector Allan Reloj, Moises Padilla PNP chief identified the suspect as Jefe Letegio Baladhay, 34, married, resident of the place.

The raid was conducted through a search warrant issued by Judge Cyclamen Jison-Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court, Branch-63, La Carlota City dated August 3, 2017.

A 19-year-old girl was killed when bumped by a Ceres bus along Km 80-81 in the national highway of Purok Roadside, Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City around 10:10 a.m. Monday.

Police Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, Sagay City OIC police chief identified the victim as Karen Parreño Villegas, resident of the place.

Mansueto identified the driver of Ceres bus as Franklin Valiente Postrano of Barangay Mabini, Escalante City.

A cargo truck helper died when he fell from the vehicle while trying to embark at Km 118 in Barangay Tigbao, Calatrava town, Negros Occidental around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Police Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava PNP chief identified the victim as Arsencio Peroramas, 40, single, of Barangay Mahilum, also of the town.

He fell from the top of the cargo truck loaded with softdrinks when he tried to alight, lost control of his balance and hit head first to the cemented road.

The First Mt. Kanla-on Natural Park Festival 2017 Halad Kay Kang-laon opening ceremonies will be held Friday, August 11, at Sitio Guintubdan, Barangay Ara-al in La Carlota City, to be led by City Mayor Luis Jacky D. Jalandoni III.

Expected to grace the festival are Bago City Mayor Nicolas ‘Nikko’ Yulo, La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor Manguilimotan, Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano, San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo ‘Ginggo’ Valmayor and Canlaon City Mayor Jimmy Jayme L. Clerigo, Governor Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. of Negros Occidental and Governor Roel Degamo of Negros Oriental.

Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. has formally named acting provincial police director Senior Supt. Rodolfo Castil, Jr., as director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO).

Marañon yesterday said his “marching order” for Castil is “to make Negros Occ. peaceful, drug-free, and one of the top investment and tourist destinations in the country.”

“We are now number two in the tourist destination, and nobody will come here if there is always trouble in here,” the governor said.
