Ultron Race vs Sprint 4t Rider; Sprint 4t Racer vs Rev-X Pantra

The race to finals will come to an end tonight as Ultron Race will face Sprint 4t Rider in 36 and above category, at 7:00 in the evening while Sprint 4t Racer will face Rev-X Pantra at 8:30 pm in the 35 and under of the Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup 2017 at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

It was the result of last Wednesday’s matches in the semi-finals where top Seeds Ultron Race and Rev-X Pantra survived their respective rubber matches.

In line with the celebration of National Tuberculosis (TB) Month this August 1-31, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod approved the resolution of Councilor Sonya Verdeflor, enjoining all Bacolodnons to internalize the treatment and precaution against tuberculosis.

The observance is aimed at reducing the incidence of Tuberculosis (TB) and TB-related morbidity and mortality in the country.

During this celebration, the public is educated about TB, its causes, treatment, symptoms and prevention.

Two wanted persons hiding for 10 years for the crime of attempted murder, were arrested in Purok Kalubihan and Proper in Barangay Luna in Cadiz City Thursday afternoon.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, OIC police chief of Cadiz, identified the suspects as Jose Bonda Portuguez, Jr., 44, “Alyas Cano”, and Rolando Ligasan Bermejo, 48, “Alias Bogrong”, both married of Purok Kalubihan & Proper in Barangay Luna, Cadiz.

A sugar cane farm worker was found dead floating in Paniqui-on River in Barangay Jerusalem in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental around 2:30 in the afternoon Friday.

Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz PNP OIC chief, identified the victim as Roger Gale Daytik, 43, married of Purok Sto. Nino in Barangay Jerusalem, Cadiz.

Based on the report of his wife, the victim acted strangely since July 30, claiming he was being followed by unidentified persons.

Former Guihulngan City PNP chief, Superintendent Arnel Arpon was buried at noon Saturday at Hinobaan public cemetery, the place of his wife Analyn, where they also reside

Thousands of mourners attended the burial after a mass at St. Michael Parish Church in Hinobaan town that started at 9:30 in the morning.

Police Chief Supt. Edmund Gonzales, the Negros Island Region (PRO-18) Regional Director led other police officers during the burial.

Arpon’s classmates at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class 1998 were the pall bearers.

The Livelihood and Skills Training Center of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) located in Brgy. III, San Carlos City was inaugurated recently.

Engr. Allan Francis Dara-ug, Provincial Director of DOST, said “this center is one of its kind in Negros Occidental which is DOST supported”.

He added that if the project shows good result, phase II of the building will follow.

The center is aimed at creating a pool of skillful manpower in preparation for the various emerging industries in the city and nearby localities.
