Rey Pandoro free throws lifted Ultron Race past HTP Dot 4 in overtime, 86-84 in the 36 and above category of the Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

In extra time, Rene Miag-ao went 3 of 4 from the line and Pandoro made 3 straight free throws to keep Ultron Race unbeaten in 5 games.

Late in the 4th quarter Biboy Yap knocked down a triple and teammate Pandoro made a free throw to take a 79-77 lead, but HTP Dot 4 Lito Dumdum scored to force the extra period.

OJ Lopue raised the ante to remain at No.1 on the fourth playdate in the ongoing Tenpin Masters Challenge (TMC) Season Four July qualifyiers at Lopue’s East Bowling Center (LEBC), Villamonte in Bacolod City.

Lopue registered the highest qualifying set of 660 pin falls on July 13, while his next best score was 597 on July 6 including a plus 5 handicap points per game.

The powerhouse bowler recently dominated last season’s Grandmaster Showdown and took home the Bowler of the Year title.

It is no wonder that Negros Occ. earned its rank among the most visited last year.

IIt was Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. who relayed to Abdulkadi Guialani, head of the PNP Regional Internal Affairs Service Region 18 that Negros Occ. is the second Most Visited Destination among domestic visitors in 2016, as per data from the Philippine Statistics Authority and Department of Tourism. Guilani paid a courtesy call at the Governor’s office Thursday. With Gov at the visit was DA OPA Japhet Masculino.

A total of 130 toddlers aged four years old and below from three poblacion barangays in EB Magalona  on Monday (July 17, 2017) availed of free dental services from dentists and dental technicians on board the Provincial Dental Health Bus of the provincial government of Negros Occidental.

The beneficiaries were enrollees of the three Day Care centers in Baragays 1, 2 and 3 Poblacion.

An American national was found dead inside their room at their house in Purok Masinadyahon in Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Bago City police identified the victim as John Raymond Miller, 68, pensioner, of Arizona, USA and married to a Filipina for 12 years.

He was found lying on his bed and was rushed to Bago City Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

His wife told police authorities that her husband has long been suffering from high blood pressre, diabetes and spinal damage.

A painter who hastily left Sunday from Lakawon Island Beach Resort and Spa is the person of interest (POI) in the robbery of jewelries and cash on Sunday in Barangay Cadiz Viejo, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

The victim is the former mayor of Pagadian City in Zamboanga Del Sur and his wife.

The incident was discovered around 7:00 a.m. Sunday, when the suspect gained entrance at the window of the Junior Suite comfort room the couple was renting.

The couple decided to stay in the island resort to attend the wedding of their friends in Negros Occidental.

A drug suspect was arrested and confiscated with P50, 000 worth of suspected shabu in Zone 6, Ylagan Extension, Barangay 6, San Carlos City around 11:15 a.m. Monday.

Police Superintendent Arturo Fullero, OIC police chief of San Carlos City identified the suspect as Molmorida Sayson Rosendo, 35, single, of the place. He is a newly indentified street level target, according to Fullero.

He was arrested after he handed one small sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange of P100 marked money which was also recovered from him.

Two alleged drug suspects were arrested in separate drug operation by Hinigaran PNP in the town at dawn Tuesday.

Police Senior Inspector Lawrence Gerard Bathan, Hinigaran PNP chief identified the suspects as Jessie Espinosa Limaco, “Alias Boy Lolo”, 24, single of Sitio Guba in barangay 2 of the town and Melvin Mallo Salvacion, “Alyas Kapid Gamay”, 30, single of Remedios Ville Subdivision in Barangay Gargato in the gown.

A husband shot dead his wife and himself but survived in a marital conflict at their house around 8:00 p.m. Monday in Barangay Baquid, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

Superintendent Arnel Arpon, Guihulngan City PNP chief identified the victim as Marcela Montealegre, 52, married, resident of the place.

The suspect is identified as Remenchu Montealegre, 52, farmer, also resident of the place.

He tried to shoot himself in the left chest from a .357 Magnum, the same firearm he used to shoot his wife.
