After a 7-0 victory against Ilocos United FC last week, Ceres Negros Football Club duplicated the feat against league leader FC Meralco Manila over the weekend in the ongoing 2017 the Philippines Football League at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Iain Ramsay led the Busmen with a hat-trick to cut Meralco’s scoring power as Fernando Rodriguez’ broke the defence of Florencio Baledic Jr. on twin goals in the opening minutes of the match.

For refusing to give him money, a son stabbed dead his biological mother, and her dead body was found in Sitio Atoy-Atoy in Barangay Gil Montilla in Sipalay City, Friday morning.

Police Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay PNP chief, named the victim as Prencisa Saratan Lumeran, 52 years old, and a resident of Sitio Atoy-Atoy.

Vargas named the suspect as her son, Agripino Saratan Lumeran, 31 years old, also of the place.

He was arrested at Jesusito Village in barangay San Jose also in the city.

Two drug suspects were arrested with P20,000 worth of shabu, at Carmela Subdivision main road in Barangay Guinhalaran in Silay City around 12:30 in the afternoon Friday.

Superintendent Willy Diel, Silay PNP chief, named the suspects as Joloey Lanasa Osainas, 25 years old, single of Sitio Dacutan Dacu in Barangay Mambulac, and Christian Paul Aleman Magbanua, 29 years old, of Doña Inrica in Barangay Zone 2 in Talisay City.

Once the Congressional Committee on Transportation Technical Working Group convenes this week, Bacolod Congressman Greg Gasataya will submit the position papers of the drivers in the city expressing their sentiments against the implementation of the Omnibus Franchise Guidelines.

According to Gasataya, the House Committee on Transportation chaired by Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, has decided to defer the implementation of the Omnibus Franchise Guidelines pending the creation of a technical working group that will further study it.

The employment desk for persons with disability (PWD) will be opened today by the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) of the Office of the City Mayor of Bacolod.

The launching will be held at the lobby of the Bacolod City Government Center this morning with top city officials lead by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Congressman Greg Gasataya, city councilors, heads of offices, and businessmen.

According to Anthony Ayco, head of PESO, the PWD Employment desk will be manned by PWDs themselves.

Mayor Neil Lizares III, with Congressman Albee Benitez, met with Atty. Alberto C. Agra, Chairman of the Board, Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) to explore on the possibilities of a reclamation and other development projects in Talisay City, Third District of Negros Occidental.

Also in the meeting were Atty. Sammy Palanca, Atty. Jack Maalat, Mr. Rolando Corona of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (BREDCO) and Mr. Ismael Penado, Assistant City Administrator, Talisay City.

A Dutch national was robbed by two female and two male suspects along Burgos Street in Barangay 12, Bacolod City, Saturday night.

Bacolod Police Station 1 operatives who responded to the scene, named the victim as Jalal Azimi, 53, divorced and presently staying at Midtown Hotel at Rizal- Lacson Streets at downtown.

P02 Rafael Candaso and other police officers of station 1, under P/Sr. Insp. Leo Estopa, responded to the scene of the crime. They said the victim was riding in a tricycle with a certain “Rose”, an alleged pimp, and a minor named “Cassandra”.

A volunteer group that was organized in Bacolod City almost a year ago, with the objective of fighting corruption, illegal drugs, crimes and terrorism, was disowned by the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG).

Assistant Solicitor General Henry Angeles, who is also OSG Chief of Staff, in a June 20, 2017 letter, said the Task Force Crusaders (TFC led by retired General Romeo B. Maganto), has no link whatsoever with the OSG.
