Three alleged drug suspects from the Muslim Community in Barangay 30 were arrested by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit ( CDEU) around 4 p.m. Monday at 2k Cellshop in Mabini Street, Barangay 40, Bacolod.

Led by Police Inspector Adrian James Albaytar of CDEU and police operatives from Police Station 6, they arrested the suspects.

An alleged drug suspect was arrested around 4:24 p.m. Monday along Mabini Street in Barangay Zone 4, Cadiz City, while another suspect was able to escape dragnet in Victorias City also Monday.

Police Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz OIC police chief, identified the suspect as Rommel Seba Guarino, 55, married, jobless, of Hacienda Carmen in Barangay Daga in the city.

Guarino was arrested after he handed a suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange of P300 marked money.

Talisay City Mayor Neil E. Lizares III led the distribution of the 2nd quarter allowance to 728 senior citizens of Barangay Concepcion yesterday.

An ordinance, “Creating the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office in La Carlota City and Providing Funds Therefore and For Other Purposes”, authored by Vice Mayor Dr. Rex R. Jalando-on and sponsored by Committee on Police, Fire and Public Safety Chairman SPM Jacob E. Liansing, SPM Jaime Manuel H. Mariño and Richard Sebastian S Benedicto as members, was unanimously approved during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of La Carlota recently.

Why is suicide now a common incident in Negros?

Another teenager was found dead hanging in a tree, this time beside their house in Barangay Tambojangin in Amlan town, Negros Oriental.

Amlan policemen identified the victim as Robert Bernardo Cuenco, 17, single, minor, of Sitio Dao, BarangayTambojangin in Sitio Dao, BarangayTambojangin, Amlan town.

The victim was reportedly having a drinking spree with his friends at Rochelle Store Monday night.

Isabela Mayor Joselito Y. Malabor expressed optimism that his requests, for a new municipal police chief and for five additional policemen, will be granted in a few days.

Malabor, in a phone interview yesterday told NDB he already got positive response from P/S Supt. Rodolfo D. Castil, OIC-Provincial Police Director for Negros Occidental, on his request for or recommendation, to assign as Isabela PNP Chief of Police, Chief Inspector Jake Panagsagan Barila.
