Passing halfway of the eliminations, Silverado squad soared high on the leader board after round 5 in the ongoing 12th BCBC Open Trios Bowling Tournament 2017 Men’s division at Negros Super Lanes in Bacolod City.

The trio of Silverado stole the limelight from running second BCY La Filipina bowlers, 994-933, who held the top spot in the previous round.

Members of Silverado are manager Cecil Silverio, Johann Genolos, Norman Pineda, Cesar Sumaylo, and Orly Guiljon.

Rev-X Trekker got past Rev-X All Terrain, 69-67, in the 35 and above Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

DK Equipaje knocked down 2 free throws with less than 2 minutes left to break the 67- all deadlock and nail the victory for Rev-X Trekker.

Rev-X Trekker established a 43-36 advantage in the 1st half as Sean Wee poured 11 points.

With teammates Bryan Javelosa, Kerwyn Guillon and Equipaje hitting 6 points each.

A man was killed and his companion was injured when they were shot by two unidentified suspects inside Milagring Store located in Independencia Street, Barangay Poblacion, Dumaguete City around 2:19 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Romeo Eden Carillaga, Jr., “Alias Yoyon”, 35, single, of Dr. V. Locsin Street, Dumaguete City. He sustained gunshot wound in the head and died on the spot as declared by One Rescue Team leader Dr. Kenneth Coo.

A woman was arrested for murder in Purok Reservoir, Barangay Mabigo, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Wilfredo Alarcon, Jr., Canlaon City PNP chief identified the suspect as Violeta Magallano Marco, 47, widow, resident of the said place.

She was served with arrest warrant by Canlaon City PNP signed by Judge Mario Trinidad of Regional Trial Court, Branch-64 in Guihulngan City in Negros Oriental.

She was denied bail for her temporary liberty. She is now detained at Canlaon City lock up cell.*(CMGarde)

A married man ended his life by hanging at their house in Barangay Malalangsi, Pamplona town in Negros Oriental whose body was found at 6:00 a.m. yesterday, Wednesday.

Pamplona PNP investigator identified the victim as Nathaniel Miraflor Corda, 25, married, of Barangay Malalangsi in Pamplona town.

He used a nylon rope to hang himself. He was rushed to Tanjay City Urgent Care but was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician.

Pamplona PNP is still investigating the motive of suicide.*(CMG)

A resident of Manapla was arrested with firearm by combined elements of Victorias City PNP, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office along the national highway of Osmeña Avenue in Barangay 21, in the city on Monday.

Ronald Bicom, 52, married, of Purok 39 in Manapla town was confiscated with one .45 caliber pistol with serial number 861973 and two (2) magazines of the same caliber.

Police authorities arrested a suspicious-looking person roaming near the oil depots in Amlan town in Negros Oriental around 8:15 p.m. Monday along the national highway in Barangay Tandag in the town.

Police arrested Arturo Semetera Povadora, 42, single, jobless, of Barangay Looc in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

A concerned citizen reported to Amlan PNP that a person is acting suspiciously near the Chevron and Fil Oil depots in the area.

Povadora was wearing a sweatshirt with hood, hat and sling bag.

A street level target drug personality was arrested in a drug bust in Purok Tahong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, Police Station 2 chief identified the suspect as Michael Pabalate Penoso, 22, single, resident of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2.

The suspect was confiscated with one (1) elongated heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange of P1, 000 marked money.

This developed as Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said that running for the province’ top post is “an option.”

Lacson said that all politicians have “their own ambitions and want to step up the ladder.”
