With both players struggling on the first frame, OJ Lopue closed the next seven frames to outshine former champion Dr Larnie Vencer, 174-163, and capture the Tenpin Master’s Challenge (TMC) Bowler of the Year title dubbed as Tournament of Champions: “Grandmaster Showdown”.

Lopue toppled three consecutive spares in the second frame followed by two strikes and a double spare at the 20-alley of Lopue’s East Bowling Center (LEBC) in Bacolod City on Thursday, June 29.

Listed sugar and ethanol producer Roxas Holdings, Inc. (RHI) has committed to address environmental concerns of Pontevedra town and vowed to exert every effort to ensure that human health is not affected.

RHI’s EVP/COO for Ethanol Luis O. Villa-Abrille and Central Azucarera de la Carlota (CACI) VP/GM Esteban H. Coscolluela in a statement said that they are collaborating with the municipal government led by Mayor Jose Benito Alonso

to ensure that the health of people in the communities living near its plants is preserved.

The head of the Security Office of the provincial government of Negros Occidental will conduct an investigation if the guards assigned at the Capitol’s different buildings and facilities are using guns with fake licenses.

Venchito Magalona, Capitol security chief said that he immediately fixed a meeting with the four security agencies with contracts with the provincial government.

During the meeting, the agencies admitted that they cannot determine if the licenses issued to their guards are genuine as they not receiving any briefings from the proper authorities.

A motorcycle driver was killed when he was bumped by a Toyota Hi-Lux at Sitio Hinablan Road, Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay City, Negros Occ. around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, OIC Police Chief identified the victim as Portoso Binarao Aliman, Jr., 45, married, of the place.

He sustained head and body injuries and was rushed to Sipalay City Satellite Health Unit but was declared dead on arrival.

A man was stabbed dead by two cousins in Hacienda Angelita in Barangay Camandag, La Castellana town, Negros Occidental 2:00 p.m. Saturday.

Police Chief Inspector Jerry Nacion, La Castellana PNP chief identified the victim as Ronel Yson Castromayor, 31, single, resident of Hacienda Angelita, Barangay Camandag, Negros Occ.

According to police operative, a witness Jason Medinilla, said that about 2:00 p.m. Saturday, the suspects approached the victim and without any justification stabbed him several times.

The village chief of Barangay Bacong-Montilla in Bago City, Negros Occ. was shot by two unidentified suspects who barged into his house in Purok Tuburan in the said Barangay around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police Chief Inspector Joeffer Cabural, Bago City OIC police chief identified the victim as Barangay Captain Federico Hilado Gayagas, 47, married.

He sustained gunshot wounds on his right shoulder and legs and was rushed to Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City.

With its transformation from merely an anti-crime and corruption organization, Task Force Kasanag (TFK) will now have a socio-economic program for its members.

John Chiong, national commander of the TFK said that the past Task Force Crusaders popularly known as TFC, decided to dissolve the organization after it was marred with corruption and alleged link of some members to illegal drugs.
