Ultron Touring survived Ultron Extra, 75-71 to kick off the 36 and above in the Fil-Sino Petron Cup 2017 at Po Hang Gym of the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Monday.

Harry Siendo and teammate Alex Fernandez fired 16 and 6 points respectively to give Ultron Touring, 24-18 opening quarter lead.

Efraim Valencia scored 11 points for Ultron Extra.

Cris Pascua scored 8 points for Ultron Extra but Edward Uy went 6 of 6 from the field to keep the lead for Ultron Touring at the break, 43-36.

A man creating alarm and scandal was arrested and yielded suspected shabu in Purok 6, Barangay 5, Sipalay City 10:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Police Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas, Sipalay City PNP chief identified the suspect as Guillermo Labandilo Singson, 27, “Alias Bonbon,” of Sitio Bado, Barangay Gil Montilla, Sipalay City, Negros Occ.

Concerned citizen in the area reported to police the incident, prompting police operatives to respond in the area.

A man lost his personal belongings to unidentified robbers that barged inside his house in Purok Langka, Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental around 2:20 a.m. June 22.

Superintendent Adonis Rosales, Talisay City PNP chief identified the victim as Richard Ledesma Nepomuceno, 53, married, resident of Purok Langka, Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City.

He said the unidentified suspect gained entry and exited by climbing the canopy of the terrace at the second floor and opened the sliding door.

Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. is informing its consumers that the residential rate for June 2017 billing is P9.9095/kwh; a decrease of P0.5967/kWh from last month’s P10.5062/kwh.

Lower price availed from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) resulted to this reduction in CENECO’s effective rate. The Transmission and System Loss charges also decreased by P0.0579 and P0.0694, respectively.

A total drop of P1.2574 has been recorded for April to June 2017 billing months.

The fight is not yet over, former Talisay City Mayor Eric Saratan yesterday said after the First Division of the Commission on Elections First dismissed the election protest filed by his wife Sheila against Talisay Mayor Neil Lizares, but elevated it to the Comelec en banc after one commissioner gave a dissenting commission.

A sugar planter and his driver were killed when ambushed early yesterday morning at Sitio Matso, Purok Green Hills, Barangay Minapasok, Calatrava in northern Negros occidental.

Police Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, Calatrava PNP chief said they received the report around 7:00 a.m. and responded to the area which is a hinterland barangay passing Sagay City.
