Police authorities arrested a notorious akyat-bahay suspect, yesterday and recovered a shotgun and part of the loot from his possession.

SPO1 Dante Escorpion collared Niño Cubellas, 33, of Purok 4, Brgy. Magsungay at 21st Lacson for allegedly robbing the house of Joseph Anthony Fuentebella at Brgy. 4, recently.

Cubellas was with his two companions who managed to escape apprehension.

Two giant entities are seeking the intervention of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City regarding the establishment of Banago Port in Brgy. Banago.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) through its Port Manager Engr. Enrique Fuen-tebaja, requested the SP for favorable endorsement to the City Development Council (CDC), which is necessary for the establishment of the Banago Public Port. While earlier, Atty. Simplico Palanca, president of BREDCO, operating the BREDCO Port at the Reclamation Area, which is just a few kilometers from the proposed Banago Public Port, has sent a letter to the SP opposing the Banago Port Development Project. Aside from that, during the recent meeting of the CDC, the annual investment plan of the barangays submitted by the barangay captains were recognized by CDC.

Five persons were arrested by operatives of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDOTG) about 12:20PM, yesterday while reportedly having a pot session at Brgy. 2 in Bacolod City.

PSSupt. Ricardo T. De la Paz said that CAIDSOTG chief, PSInsp. Neil Exaltado identified those apprehended as John Michael Jimenez, 26, of 18th St. in Brgy. 4, Joel Betua, 45, of Purok Bayanihan, Brgy. Banago, Nolan Odulio, 43, of Purok Lubi, Brgy.3, Roy Torres, 57, of Villa Lourdes, Brgy. Pahanocoy and Lovernie Rama, 47, of Jesusa Heights in Brgy. Estefania. Exaltado stated that they were conducting anti-illegal drugs operation in Purok Sigay,Brgy. 2 when they saw the five subjects having pot session through the door of an abandoned house which they left unlocked.

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC.
