Hinigaran to Get More Cops

Hinigaran town, now with only 10 policemen including its new chief of police, will have more cops soon, said Senior Supt. Rodolfo Castil, Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (NOCPPO) director.

Earlier, Mayor Nadie Arceo questioned the PNP for granting the request of the nine policemen to be transferred, thus leaving behind only 10 to serve the town.

The Mayor said, however that it is the right of policemen to ask for transfer and it is up to the PNP either to grant it or not.

The new town cop chief is Chief Inspector Jake Barila who came from from PRO-18.

“With just 10 policemen, how can we perform?,” the Mayor asked.

On his part, NOCPPO Director Castil said he convinced majority of his men to stay, except for the nine, who are now assigned with the drug enforcement units and police stations in other areas.

Castil assured local officials of Hinigaran that they will be prioritized in the deployment of new police personnel from the Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB).*
