Robbery Suspect Arrested, Wounded

A robbery suspect was arrested but got wounded when he tried to put a fight in a house in Purok Mangga, Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto town Saturday night.

Police Senior Inspector Joevito Bose, the town’s police chief, identified the suspect as Nixon Caburog Gadiano, 18, single of Purok Locsin in Barangay Igmaya-an, DSB.

The town police responded to the call that the suspect entered and robbed Cynthia Flores, female, of legal age, married of the place.

The suspect ransacked the properties of the victim but was caught by Dr. Walter Villanueva, a visitor of the victim who called the police.

When policemen arrived, the suspect hid inside the KIA Sorento of Dr. Villanueva, armed with a knife.

Cops told the suspect to step out of the car but he resisted and suddenly attacked the responding team, prompting them to shoot him, hitting his feet.

He was rushed to the town’s health unit and later transfered to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod for further treatment.

Police recovered one knife measuring 13 inches from tip to handle; P 6,500 cash he had taken from the victim; one ball pen, and assorted keys.
