In Fil-Sino Petron Cup Finals Tonight!

Ultron Race vs Sprint 4t Rider; Sprint 4t Racer vs Rev-X Pantra

The race to finals will come to an end tonight as Ultron Race will face Sprint 4t Rider in 36 and above category, at 7:00 in the evening while Sprint 4t Racer will face Rev-X Pantra at 8:30 pm in the 35 and under of the Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup 2017 at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

It was the result of last Wednesday’s matches in the semi-finals where top Seeds Ultron Race and Rev-X Pantra survived their respective rubber matches.

Ultron Race defeated HTP Dot 4, 73-65 in the 36 and above category and Rev-X Pantra won over Sprint 4t Enduro, 95-85 in the 35 and under class.

HTP Dot 4 took a 17-11 1st quarter lead behind Henel Jison 8 points while Oliver Manaloto had 7 points for Ultron Race.

Rey Pandoro scored 11 points; Mark Yee 7 points and Dennis Gamboa with 5 points to push Ultron Race on top at the break, 37-31 even as Ronald Despi scored 7 points for HTP Dot 4.

Danny Boy Uy dropped 11 points to extend the lead of Ultron Race, 52-38 going to the 4th quarter as Despi continue to carry HTP Dot 4 with 6 points.

Despi and Alagaban combined for 19 points to keep HTP Dot 4 within striking distance, but timely baskets by Mark Yee and Pandoro with 7 and 6 points respectively kept HTP Dot 4 at bay and seal the finals berth for Ultron Race.

Pandoro paced Ultron Race with 19; Yee and Uy added 14 points each.

Despi had a game-high 24 points; Jison and Alagaban with 11 points each and Mark Binguan with 5.

In the nightcap Rev-X Pantra fired 8 triples in the 2nd quarter to overturn a 28-24 deficit and convert it to a 59-46 lead at the break.

Ramon Khey made 4 triples and Nico Yap added 3 triples for 15 points in the decisive 2nd quarter run.

Ardian Ong and Barlaj Sekhon had 6 points in the 3rd canto for Sprint 4t Enduro, though they outscored Rev-X Pantra in the final period with Ritchie Militante delivered 10 points but time was not on their side to overhaul the lead.

Yap led Rev-X Pantra with 18 points; Khey added 15; while Jeremy Coo and Brian Coo produced 14 points each; Carlo Chu with 11; Andy Tio had 8 and Shinley Uy with 11 points.

Militante had a game-high 22 points in a losing effort; Robbie Jalandoon with 10 points; Joshua Vidal and Jason Yap sunk 8 points each; while Sukhraj Sekhon and Ardian Ong made 6 points apiece.* (Cyrus M. Garde)
