PIA Slates Asean Briefing, Kumpas Brgy. Tomorrow
The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) will be conducting an Asean briefing for Information Officers and ‘Kumpas Barangay’ in Brgy. Granada tomorrow, Friday, August 4, in a move to heighten awareness and appreciation to the Asean that will turn 50 years-old on August 8.
In the morning, the Asean briefing for Information Officers will be held at the DTI- Bacolod City Negosyo Center Training at 8:30 am.
To speak on Asean overview is PIA’s Lorenzo Lambatin Jr. and Lilibeth French of PIA6 on Freedom of Information (FOI).
In the afternoon, there will be a ‘Kumpas Barangay’ or hinun-anon sa barangay in Brgy. Granada to be attended by more than 50 participants at 2:00 pm.
Brgy. Granada Punong Barangay Alfredo Talimodao will address the participants and give the welcome message.
Various sectors will present questions during the program to be answered by concerned agencies including officials of the barangay.
Dr. Rommel Amihan of DTI will talk about the agency’s programs while Social Worker Rosalyn Rubrico of the Department of Social Services and Development will speak on social welfare benefits.
The Asean information campaign is a government program to reach out to the masses bringing the message of economic prosperity, peace and unity in the Asean region including the Philippines. *(JCM/Lljr-PIA6)
