Two Die in Road Mishap
Two persons were killed when bumped a by cargo truck in Silay City yesterday noon and by a Ceres Bus in Pulupandan, Monday.
In Silay City, police identified the victim as Orlandino Badian, 78, of Sitio Dacutan Dacu, Barangay 3 of the city. He sustained head and body injuries and died upon arrival at the nearest hospital.
Investigation disclosed that he was sideswept by a cargo truck while along the gutter in the place and failed to get up.
The cargo truck driver, identified as Arturo Familiaran of Toboso, Negros Occidental even tried to flee with his cargo truck but was chased and intercepted by police operatives.
He is now detained at Silay City PNP.
Meanwhile, a Ceres bus driven by Paul Deles of Bacolod City bumped a pedestrian identified as Dennis Tulmo of Barangay Mabini, Pulupandan town on Monday afternoon.
Tulmo was about to cross along the national highway in Barangay Mabini when the accident happened.
The driver was detained and the management of Vallacar Transit Incorporated, operator of Ceres bus, is set to settle the case amicably.* (Cyrus M, Garde)
