Sprint 4t Enduro Upsets Rex-V Pantra

Sprint 4t Enduro upset top seed Rev-X Pantra, 83-82, last Friday in the semi finals of the 35 and below category of the Fil-Sino Inter-Color Petron Cup at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

They will meet anew tomorrow with the winner advancing to the finals.

Meanwhile, No. 2 Sprint 4t Racer advances to the finals with a victory against Rev-X All Terrain, 90-81.

Burly Sukhraj Sekhon came up big at crunch time as he scored in the shaded area to give Sprint 4t Enduro 1-point lead.

Ramon Khey knocked down two free throws to take the lead back to Rev-X Pantra.

But Sekhon scored anew on an offensive put back with 8 seconds to go for the final count as Rev-X Pantra bungled on its last play as time expired.

Rev-X Pantra started out with a commanding 30-11 advantage in the 1st quarter behind Shinley Uy 15 points. He was supported y teammates Brian Coo and Nico Yap scoring 6 points each, while Sekhon scored 7 points for Sprint 4t Enduro.

Sprint 4t Enduro responded in the 2nd quarter to take the lead at the break ,43-38 behind Robbie Jalandoon and Richie Militante scoring 10 and 8points respectively and teammates Brix Arrobang and Kako Lacson had 6 points apiece.

Militante paced Sprint 4t Enduro with 22 points; Jalandoon added 14 points; Sekhon dropped 12; Lacson hit 11; Arrobang had 10 and Jasper Geolingo with 8 points.

Shinley Uy had a game-high 25 points; Nico Yap added 16; Brian Coo produced 13; Carlo Chu scored 10 and Ramon Khey with 8.

Sprint 4t Racer pulled away at the right time in the 4th quarter against Rev-X All Terrain as they recovered from a 3rd quarter deficit.

Sprint 4t Racer RB Chua and Arnol Laureño scored 10 and 8 points respectively with a support from Alvin Dionela, Bam Bam Guevarra and Alvan Rodriguez. Foul Trouble to key players and a height and heft disadvantage proved to be the waterloo of Rev-X All Terrain in closing out the game.

Laureño top-scored with 21 points; Chua added 19; Dionela shot 12; Rodriguez with 10; while Pao Pao Lim and Guevarra produced 6 points apiece and Omar Galunan made 5.

Ceazar Tan finished with 20 points; Buddy Eufre scored 12; Luigi Coo hit 11; while Joel Masadia and RJ Iligan shot 8 points apiece.* (Cyrus M. Garde)
