Outstanding PRO18 Cops Awarded

The PRO18 celebrated the culmination of 22nd Police Community Relations Month. Outstanding police offices and stations to include individual personnel and most supportive local government units (LGUs) received awards during the said activity.

PSSupt. Petronelli M. Baldebrin, Deputy Regional Director for Operations gave the Welcome Remarks.

Negros Oriental Police Office (NORPPO) received the award for Outstanding Police Provincial Office, while Kabankalan City Police Station was awarded as Outstanding City Police Station and Siaton Police Station as Best Municipal Police Station.

On the other hand, Outstanding Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) was awarded to PCInps. Sherlock C. Gabana, Station Commander of Police Station 5, BCPO and the Junior PCO given to PSInsp. Joy J. Ellaga, Deputy Chief of Police, Victorias CPS, NOCPPO.

For the Police Non-Commissioned Officer Level, the outstanding Senior PNCO is awarded to SPO1 Jan S. Gallo, PCR PNCO, Sibulan MPS, NORPPO, while in Junior PNCO is awarded to the PCR PNCO of Police Station 3, BCPO, PO3 Feliciano V. Sumogat III.

Three identified local government institutions also received a Plaque of Recognition for being the Most Supportive LGUs. For the Provincial Category, the Negros Occidental Government in behalf of Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., Mr. Angelo Verdeflor, Executive Assistant to the Governor received the award. While Mr. Jesus Facundo Combate Jr. received the award in behalf of Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. of San Carlos City adjudged as the most supportive LGU for Component City, while Municipality of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental headed by Mayor Jose Benito A. Alonso was awarded as Most Supportive LGUs under municipal level.

PSInsp. Armilyn B. Vargas, Regional Public Information Office Police Regional Office 18 received the Outstanding PCO in the field of Public Information and SPO2 Dyesebel R. Celis City Public Information Office Tanjay CPS, NORPPO as outstanding PNCO for PIO.

Meanwhile, NUP Lara Flynn G. Barot of Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office was awarded as the Outstanding NUP in the field of Public Information. The Most Supportive Media Practitioner is received by Mr. Gilbert P. Bayoran, Senior Reporter of Daily Star and the most Supportive Religious Personality is awarded to Pastor Enrique J. Cansino, Spiritual Coordinator of Bacolod City Police Office.

The Guest of Honor and Speaker for the Closing Ceremony was Atty. Joseph Celis, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM NIR. He stressed the need for having good relationship between the police and the community. Before closing, he also condoled with the families of the Guihulngan ambush victims.*
