Victorias, Binalbagan Win Panaad Folkdance Competition
The City of Victorias was hailed champion in the Rural Category with their performance “Regatones” and the Municipality of Binalbagan topped the Maria Clara Category with their winning piece “Bayluhan” during the 24th Panaad sa Negros Philippine Folkdance Competition.

The Municipalities of Hinigaran and Murcia with their respective rural folkdances “Karatong” and “Sinalampati” placed 2nd and 3rd, while Silay, Bacolod, Toboso, Manapla and Talisay received consolation prizes.
In the Maria Clara Category, Kabankalan City’s “Alcamfor” and San Carlos City’s “Pandanguiado Buraweño” bagged the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Consolation prizes were given to Escalante, Himamaylan, Bago, Cadiz, and Sagay City.
Victorias bagged all the special awards in the Rural category while Bianalbagan bagged all the special awards in the Maria Clara Category, that include the Best in Costume and Best in Performance.
Victorias City’s Yolelo Abancio and Binalbagan’s Luisito Traigo were awarded Best Trainers for the Rural and Maria Clara Category, respectively.

The first place winner in the Rural Category received P35,000 while the 2nd and 3rd placers received 25,000 and 20,000 pesos respectively.
For the Maria Clara Category, the first place winner received P45,000 while 2nd and 3rd place received P30,000 and P25,000 respectively.
