Seven teachers of Cuyaoyao Elementary School in Moises Padilla, Negros Occ. were held-up by two suspects inside the school compound about 5:45PM, Wednesday.

Police report said, the teachers were still inside the campus located at Brgy. Inolingan, Moises Padilla when two unidentified suspects armed with an improvised firearm, a bolo and another bladed weapon confronted them and declared a hold-up; however, one of the residents, a barangay tanod informed the authorities about the incident.

When police officers came to respond, one of the suspects allegedly grabbed one of the teachers and made her his cover against the advancing cops and the mob.

Reports added that the suspects then tried to evade arrest and later, one of them was discovered inside a sugarcane field about 200 meters from the school, identified as Ricky Cajulao who succumbed to multiple injuries on the body. He also has a pending warrant of arrest for murder and previous criminal records in Isabela town.

Police is urging the family of Cajulao to have the body autopsied to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, classes of the said elementary school was cancelled today and will resume Wednesday next week following the incident. Follow-up investigation on the case is being conducted and pursuit operations to arrest the other suspect is underway.*
