Expect an intense match ups when the top four collegiate teams will clash in a three-day Pre-NOPSSCEA basketball tournament starting today at the West Negros University gym.

Tournament commissioner Pastor Renato Bravo disclosed that the games started exactly at 3:30pm with University of St. La Salle Stingers battle University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Rams.

NOPSSCEA defending champion West Negros University Mustangs and Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod Eagles will follow at 5:00pm.

Dubbed as "1st LNA7 Collegiate Invitational Basketball Tournament," it will end Sunday in a single round robin format with the top two teams to dispute the title.

All teams are building up their respective line ups for a more competitive team, by recruitment and more tuned up games.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the winner between the USLS vs. UNO-R match-up will face the loser in the WNU vs. CSA-B game at 3:30 p.m., while the loser between the Stingers and the Rams’ game will play against the winner in the Mustangs-Eagles match.

NOPSSCEA sports task force chairman Anthony Carlo Agustin said the three-day tournament will serve as a pre-season tune-up game for the four teams.

Troy Sarabia will mentor the Mustangs, while Eugene Opu-an in the Stingers bench. Gerome Aledron will call the shot at the Rams team, while Lorenzo Solinap in the Eagles’ side.* (CMGarde)
