Riverside College, Inc. inaugurated its NCLEX/IELTS Review Center last August 8, 2012 in Bacolod City with Rev. Fr. Noli Blancaflor, school chaplain,

officiating in ribbon-cutting and blesssing of its offices situated at the 2nd floor of the school’s main building.

The Review Center is the offshoot of the exclusive agreement between the Philippine-based International Cultural Studies and Education (ISEC)-KAPLAN Certified Education Provider of America, represented by Mrs. Jonalyn K. Lim, Center Director of the Iloilo Center., and Riverside College represented by its president, Samuel Lee. This satellite office will be the Review Center of the partnership to serve the needs of professionals in Bacolod City and the Province of Negros Occ. intending to seek employment abroad. ICES has been in this business for the last twenty years while KAPLAN of U.S.A. has been serving the needs of professionals for the last 74 years. When interviewed by media practitioners during the press conference on the reasons behind the selection of Riverside College, Inc. as its exclusive center in the province, Mrs. Lim replied, "We have noted the excellent record of the college for the last 52 years partnership, not only because we feel that this could be beneficial and productive in this area, but also in our overall operations in this country.

Riverside College, as a satellite center, starts to redefine its professional career in partnership with Kaplan. Kaplan is the world leader in test preparation and has served millions of students since its founding, more than 70 years ago.

Most nursing graduates are transfixed by the opportunities that they can gain abroad, but in order to fulfill this goal, one must prove his or her knowledge, skills and abilities essential to safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry-level. And since communication is very vital in providing health teachings and instructions to other health care providers another test is designed to assess English language ability of candidates who want to study or work in Australia, New Zealand and Canada and the United States.

Review programs offered: NCLEX- RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurse) is a computer-adaptive test designed to test the nurse’s knowledge, skills and abilities, TOEFL-IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language - Internet Based Test) which measures the ability of non-native speakers of English to use and understand American English as it is spoken, written and heard in college and university setting, IELTS (International English Language Testing System) an international standardized test of English language proficiency, USMLE-1 (U.S. Medical Licensing Exam Step 1) and SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). The Review centers are located in Quezon City, Makati City, Manila, Cebu City, Baguio City, Iloilo City and a Satellite Center at Riverside College, Bacolod City. With the convergence of the two institutions, it gives both students and professionals a more accessible way to expound their profession in Bacolod City. Present at the ceremonies, aside from Samuel Lee and Ms. Jonalyn K. Lim were Mrs. Elsa C. Streegan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ms. Ma. Puy U. Torre, Vice President For Administration, Ms. Maricon Familiaran, Dean of the College of Nursing, Jade Sunico, Dean of the College of Medical Technology and members of the staff of the college.*
