Sports: Hua Ming Fun Run/Walk Slated August 19

The St. John’s Institute Alumni Association will hold Hua Ming Fun Run/Walk 2012 dubbed as "Run Ko, Pag-asa Mo" on August 19, 2012.

The activity is in cooperation with the SJI Parents’ Council in their fund raising activity for the benefit of the SJI Alumni Association Scholarship program.

This Fun Run/Walk event is "Open to All." It covers three categories; the 1k, 3k and 5k distance. The start and finish point is at the St. John’s Institute, Bacolod City.

Assembly time is at 5:30 am and the race will start at 6 pm. The course route will be from SJI to 6th St., turning Lacson St. to Robinsons Place Mandalagan for the 5k turnaround. Assembly time is at 5:30 am and the race will start at 6 pm.

Registration fee for the 3 categories are: 5k-P300; 3k- 250 and 1k - P100 and students P50 (limited to 1k distance only).

The 5k and 3k entries will include a free T-shirt. Refreshments will be provided and more than 30 raffle prizes will be given away after the race.

Top 10 winners for both male and female in all categories will be receiving medals.

Cash prizes await the top 3 winners in the 5k and 3k category. A Finisher’s medal will be given to all 5k entry that completes the course.

Furthermore, the event includes a 5k Group Walk Challenge sponsored by Cityscape Residences. Vying for the 10,000 cash prize are the Capitolville Walkers Club, Sta. Clara Walkers Club, St. Scholastica Alumni Walkers and a possible 4th group St. Mary’s Association of Queen of Peace Parish.

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC.
