Local News: Man Falls for Gun
Personnel of 3rd Maneuver Platoon, of Provincial Public Safety Company based at Aidsisa, Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City arrested a resident for alleged gun possession, Thursday afternoon.
PSInsp. Leomel Gonzaga turned over the suspect identified as Jeomar Cunejos, 22, of Hacienda Caridad for violation of Republic Act (RA) 8294 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. He was nabbed during a hot pursuit operation relative to a shooting incident at McKinley St. in Silay City.
Confiscated from his possession was a homemade 12-gauge pistol without serial number with live ammunition. He is presently detained at Silay City Police Station for investigation and filing of criminal charges.
In another report, a 24-year old man wanted for murder charges was arrested, recently inside Sagay City National High School campus at Brgy. Poblacion 2, Sagay City.
PCInsp. Gabriel Gutierez, police chief said that Marjun Bandala, of Sitio Tan-ao, Brgy. Poblacion 2 was collared through a warrant in criminal case 4281-S for murder.
The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 60 Judge Renato Muñez on July 14, 2011. The suspect was considered number 6 in the City top 10 most wanted men in Sagay City.
He is detained at Sagay City Police Station and will be endorsed to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facilities.*
