In its continuing advocacy on health and nutrition and in giving attention and care to the poor schoolchildren and their families, the La Carlota City High School (LCCHS) Batch ’72 conducted a feeding program at Brgy. Ayungon Elementary School in La Carlota City yesterday.

The activity, which was availed by some 500 schoolchildren from Grades 1 to 6 of the said school, was headed by Rosa A. Formby with husband Tom Formby, Juvy Albaño, Erlina Villarias, Eva Baldonado with Jenny Ambulo, Romeo Noble, Arlen Luces and Barangay Kagawad Bobby Seligbon.

The staff of the said school were also supportive of the activity. They are Andrew G. Tumonong, Teacher in-Charge of Ayungon Elementary School (in behalf of Principal Horacio S. Cabugua-son); Teachers Ma. Fe T. Vergara, Isabelita A. Micoy-co, Rolly and Monica Tumonong, Rhena Tumo-nong, Joan Micoyco, Gladys Diamante, Maritess Advincu-la and Gelgie Alcantara. April Rose Isidario, Grace Canja and Hazel May Bangkaya of Sitio Abaca, Guadalupe, Astro, Crossing Inez and Proper of Brgy. Ayungon were likewise on hand to assist the feeding.

One of the Grade 1 pupils exclaimed, "Manamit kag saboroso nga arroz caldo "goto"! Happy gid kami tanan kag first time ko ya nakatilaw sini Sir . Salamat gid sa inyo tanan, kabay pa ubayan kamo sang Dios."

Ardin Cardunao, Danny Aloro, Robert Jardeliza, Surgie De La Torres of Hda. Salvacion, Bagumbayan, Cristo Farms, Gradew 4, 5 and 6 students of Brgy. Ayungon Elementary School said, "Enjoy gid kami sang amon pamahaw arroz caldo "go-to". Kalayo pa sang amon balay sa hacienda, amon ginikanan ga obra sa kampo. Tani makaliwat pa kamo diri feeding para libre amon pamahaw. Salamat sa inyo tanan."

Teacher Isabelita A. Micoy-co expressed her gratitude, as she said it is a big help to the children. "Your advocacy in health and nutrition which are beneficial to our malnourished and undernourished pupils is a blessing and in correct timing to our culmination of Nutrition Month celebration. We hope your mission to poor students will continue throughout the schools of La Carlota who need you so much."

Teacher Andre G. Tumo-nong, Teacher also pointed out that this noble activity is a big boost to the children’s health.*
