Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENECO) informs its member-consumers of causes of a series of power blackouts experienced last Sunday, July 29, 2012 affecting Burgos Feeders, Mt. View Feeders, Talisay Feeders, Lopez Feeders and Panaogao Feeders.

At 6:56PM of July 29, 2012, the 69KV Talisay Feeder automatically tripped/off indicating cause at distance 19.6 kilometers in Hda. Tibay Lopez and Hda. Otelia Lacson, Talisay City.

At 10:50PM, Burgos Feeders, Mt. View Feeders and Talisay Feeders were restored. The Lopez Feeders and Panaogao Feeders, which serve the whole area of Silay City, were isolated due to detached suspension insulator of 69KV line from the cross arm, but energized at 3:32AM upon correction of wire down at Hda. Tibay Lopez and Hda. Ortelia Lacson, Talisay City.

Several line troubles in CENECO’s distribution system were experienced in many areas brought about by hot temperature, intermittent rains and wind disturbances in the weather system.

Electricity consumers are reminded that in the event of any power interruption, electrical switch/es should be turned-off for safety reasons. When electricity supply resumes, please provide allowance of about 10-15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge. For inquiries, please call your CENECO Call Center at telephone numbers 1621, 709-1256, 709-1257 and 435-3640 to 55 local 259.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
