Sports: 21 Teams to See Action in 4th Bro. Hojilla Volley Cup

Twenty one teams will see actions when volleyball hostilities back as the 4th Bro. Ceci Hojilla Memorial Cup Volleyball Championship will open on August 11, 2012 at University of St. La Salle (USLS) College Covered Court.

Tournament organizer, the Negros Occidental Volleyball Association (NOVA) headed by Roger A. Banzuela said the tournament has two categories; the Class A-Open and Class B, for both men and women.

The Class A-Open will have teams with players who can either carry the names of corporate sponsors, clubs, schools and Local Government Units (LGU). In Class B, any team with players who are not current varsity players of any school but either former varsity players or groups that played volleyball.

In Class A Men-Open division; the teams are from University of St. La Salle (USLS), University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R), Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod (CSA-B), Visayan Maritime Academy Global College (VMAGC) and Iloilo Doctor’s College (IDC).

In Class A Women division; are USLS, UNO-R, CSA-B, IDC and Foundation University of Dumaguete City.

In Class B-Men division; Bacolod Tay Tung High School Alumni, Repollan Volleyball Club, Silay City, APP Negros, St. John’s Institute, Talisay City and Men at Work Volleyball Club.

In Class B-Women are; USLS, USLS Sabado Club, St. John’s Institute and Silay City.

The Bro. Ceci Hojilla Memorial Cup is an annual volleyball spectacle that draws participants from different business sectors including local government units. This is to honor the late Br. Cecilio Montelibano Hojilla FSC, a La Sallian brother Animator who championed the cause of the athletes and was well-loved by students and La Salle community.*
