Business: Resto Owners, Hospitality Execs Gather at the DINE Philippines 2012 in Bacolod
The DINE Philippines 2012 kicks off the restaurant management seminar series in Bacolod on July 27, 2012 at the Bacolod Pavilion Hotel. The masters of the
restaurant industry and related fields are expected to share some of the most relevant insights to the participants, such as French Baker President John Lu Koa, bread master and veteran restopreneur, Chef Michael Oberle, master chef and culinary educator, The Big Chill Group President Dan Francisco, master of franchising and business start-up expert, and Multiply Country Manager Jack Madrid, master of digital marketing and virtual marketplace expert. These masters’ best practice topics ranged from menu innovation, service innovation, business expansion through franchising, and creating business opportunities through e-commerce.The seminar series is presented by Business World, Multiply.com, Negosentro.com, and the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Negros Occidental (HRANO) the lead food and hospitality organization in Negros Occidental which plays an active role in supporting the growth of the industry in the province. Organized by Courage Asia, a marketing consultancy and food business training firm of the foodservice industry and the conference producer behind the highly successful annual TOP MENU MASTERS Foodservice Convention. Coinciding with Sabor Bisaya, a culinary competition and food expo and was conceptualized by Juan Miguel Gaston, General Manager of Gruppo Uma Food Corporation, known for its restaurant concepts such as Trattoria Uma and Café Uma, in Bacolod City. Along with Maricar Dabao of Jovial Media Events as the Event Organizer, Sabor Bisaya promises to be an exciting event with the aim to be "The Premier Culinary Competition and Food Expo in Negros Occidental".
The Hotel and Restaurant of Negros Occidental (HRANO) was established in 1971 to strengthen and unify the various hotel and restaurant establishments in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental in their efforts to better serve the public. It has presently 42-member establishment including the leading hotel and restaurant establishments as well as educational institutions offering Hospitality Management and Culinary Courses. HRANO is one of the active and dynamic trade associations in the province. It has constantly worked to promote and upgrade the standards of the hospitality industry in the province and works with the local government to promote tourism in Negros Occidental.
DINE Philippines has reached more than 500 industry stakeholders and academic community in Davao, Cebu and Manila since it started in 2010. With the support of culinary schools and Council of Hotel & Restaurant Educators of the Philippines, the seminar series gathered some of the industry’s best restopreneurs such as Chef Robby Goco of Cyma, Ms. Nancy Reyes Lumen of Aristocrat, Claude Tayag of Bale Dutung and Chef Jackie Laudico of Bistro Filipino. This year, after the Bacolod leg, Davao and General Santos City follow next.
