Local News: Simultaneous Nationwide Bell Ringing at 12 Noon Today by Teachers

At 12: to 12:15 noon time today, there will be simultaneous ringing of bells in the schools nationwide according to Rep. Antonio Tinio of the ACT Teachers partylist.

In his press release, the simultaneous bell ringing, will symbolize the long-standing demand to upgrade the minimum monthly pay of public school teachers to Salary Grade 15 from Salary Grade 11.

ACT Teachers Party-List and the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) will be spearheading the School Bell Ringing Day for Salary Upgrading today.

It will start at the Batasan National High School, where Cong. Tinio and Ms France Castro will ring the school bell for 15 minutes.

Aside from schools in Manila, in the Visayas, participating schools are Cebu, Negros, Panay, and Iloilo.*(EBColmo)
