Sports: Batch ’69 Still Leads in SJS-LS Bowling Tourney
As of June 23, Batch ’69 kept the lead in the last two outings of the St. Joseph School-La Salle Inter-Alumni Bowling Tournament at the Lopue’s East Bowling Center with a total accummulated score of 20,904 pinfalls.
The sixtyniners is topscored by Melot Alimon with the support of Boy Geronca and Johnny Garcia.
Closely contested for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th spots are Batch ’80-’81 with top gunner Romulo Ramos & Suzette Morales, Batch ’78 anchored by Jack Palermo & Elmer Liboon, Batch ’71 lead by Jessie Sanchez & Mario Yulo, Batch ’83 with top scorer Jun Lozada & Stella Ongsingco closely followed by Batch ’88-’01, Batch ’84, Batch ’85, and Batch 75. There are currently 22 teams participating lead by Eng’r Tony Genova, the Alumni President of Batch ’70.
Batch ’88-’01 holds the highest team single of 584 pinfalls and Batch ’69 in the highest team triple of 1,644 pinfalls.
Carlo Boyero of Batch ’69 holds the new highest pinning of 97 pinfalls in the men’s division, while Mitzi Chua of Batch ’68 with 94 pinfalls is the record holder in the women’s side.
Highest single for men’s is still Carl Aguda of Batch ’88-’01 and Romulo Ramos for the highest triple of 397 pinfalls. In the ladies division, Suzette Morales for the highest single of 148 pinfalls and Minnie Chua of Batch ’88-’01 grabbed the highest triple of 67 pinfalls.
