Sports: 32nd NOPSSCEA Opens Sept.7

The 32nd Negros Occidental Private School Sports Cultural Educational Association Meet is calendared to open on September 7, 2012.

Though the schedules are yet to be finalized, the regular sports competitions will begin on Sept. 8.

Among the sports disciplines to be played in this year’s NOPSSCEA include arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, football, karate-do, lawn tennis,

sepak takraw, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, and beach volleyball.

Meanwhile, the NOPSSCEA Committee on Sports General Assembly is set on August 24 as the deadline for the submission of eligibility documents will be from August 25-30 while the screening of these documents will be on August 31.

The said eligibility documents include the athletes’ Form 137, entry forms and picture gallery.

On the other hand, last Monday, NOPSSCEA inducted its new set of officers for 2012 to 2014 at the NOPSSCEA Office at the Panaad Park.

Among those inducted were Gereon Cabarles, president; Dana Marie Casiano, vice president; Serah Grace Arcolas, secretary; Geoffrey Bob Bergante, treasurer and

chair of the Committee on Finance; and Teodoro Anuales, auditor.

Also inducted as chairmen of the various NOPSSCEA committees were Ervie Emelda Gallespen and Fr. Jose Generoso Taqueban, education; Rev. Edwin Madlangbayan, outreach programs; Anthony Carlo Agustin, sports; Acila Gonzales, resource

generation; Carlos Legaspi Jr., press relations; Elizabeth Salabas, organizational advancement; and Ethel Ferrer, socio-civic and religious affairs.

Outgoing President Rosario de Guzman and Ili Marie Arnaiz are the members of the Board of Trustees.* (EEJolingan)

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC.
