Three persons were arrested following a drug raid in Hinigaran which resulted to the seizure of bricks of suspected marijuana and sachet of shabu that took place about 7AM, yesterday.

PSInsp. Nerito Lobrido, of Hinigaran Police Station in an interview with NDB related that operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led by IO2 Aline Semafranca in coordination with the local police station conducted a buy bust operation at Brgy. 2.

He identified those arrested as Rolando Tison, 33, of Sitio Kinsehan, Brgy. 2; Alcadio Allado Jr., 36, of Sitio Dinandan, Brgy. Anahaw, and Algan Buga-ay, 29, of Brgy. 4, all of Hinigaran town. They were collared during the buy bust operation which resulted to the confiscation of an estimated 1/2 sack of suspected marijuana in bricks, weeds and seeds; 4 pieces rolling papers, one sachet of suspected shabu and P500 marked bill used as buy bust money.

Lobrido said that the drug operation is one of the biggest so far in Western Visayas because of the volume of marijuana confiscated.

The three suspects are presently detained while under investigation. They will be facing charges for violation of section 5 (sale) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Follow-up probe on the case is underway.*
