Local News: Gov Distributes NOCHP Cards
Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. led the distribution of Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) cards to the municipalities of Valladolid, San Enrique and Pontevedra last Monday, together with Fourth District Rep. Jeffrey P. Ferrer.
Also known as the Negros First Family Health Card, about 13,500 patients have already availed of the services of the program since September 2010.
Gov. Marañon said he hopes that NOCHP had made a difference in the lives of Negrense beneficiaries, especially the indigents, for them to have something to hold on to in times of emergencies related to health.
San Enrique had 244 cards given to Mayor Mario E. Magno, while 1,267 cards were distributed in Pontevedra with Mayor Jose Maria Alonso and 429 in Valladolid with Mayor Romel P. Yogore.
Also present in the activity were Fourth District Board Member Jose Benito Alonso, Mayor Juliet Marie Ferrer of La Carlota City, Provincial Consultant and NOCHP Program Manager Roy Balicas, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator and NOCHP Core Group Head Ma. Lina P. Sanogal and Procurement and Technical Services Division Head and NOCHP Core Group Member Mina Pellejo, among others.
It is part of Gov. Marañon and Vice Gov. Genaro M. Alvarez, Jr.’s advocacy on health as stated in the Negros First Development Agenda.
More health cards will also be distributed in the cities of Cadiz and Sagay this week.*(Capitol News)
