Local News: Pedicab Driver Stabs Septuagenarian

A pedicab driver was collared by police authorities in Sagay City for allegedly stabbing a 72-year old man, recently inside a videoke bar along Osmeña St., Brgy. Poblacion 1.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) reports revealed, Leoncio Vasquez Jr, of Avanceña St., Brgy. Poblacion 1 was drinking inside the said bar when the suspect identified as Querico Gregorio joined the former in a drink. After finishing two bottles of rhum, Gregorio allegedly shouted and dared the victim to a fight.

The suspect then went back to his pedicab and took the knife and hit Vasquez on different parts of his body following an altercation.

Responding team of Sagay City Police immediately brought Vasquez to Lopez District Foundation Incorporated (LODIFI) Hospital for treatment.

Gregorio, 67, of Conchita 3, Brgy. Paraiso was arrested and detained for further investigation.* (RRM)
