Local News: Pacman Fan Hospitalized For his Idol’s Loss in Las Vegas
A 64-year-old man in Roxas City was rushed to the hospital upon hearing the defeat of his idol Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
Hospitalized was Pepito Arguelles, resident of Baybay, Roxas City. Reportedly, Pepito was watching the Bradley-Pacman bout at Las Vegas, Nevada, via pay per view at La Hacienda Grand Hotel along Arnaldo Boulevard, Roxas City, when he suddenly suffered chest pain upon hearing the announcement that Bradley won the bout.
Pepito was together with his cousin Boy Arguelles, a barangay kagawad of Baybay who brought him to the hospital. He was later transferred to Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, where he was diagnosed to have a mild stroke. Arguelles is now in stable condition.
Like Arguelles, most Capi-zeños were shocked about the victory of Bradley over the Pambansang Kamao, Manny Pacquiao.
Gov. Victor Tanco even believes that Pacquiao won over Bradley. However, he said, the people can only do so much as the judges have already "laid down their verdict. "Anyway, that is sports," Tanco said.Bradley won over Pacquiao in a split decision.
Capizeños enjoyed the free live coverage on the wide screen of the Pacman-Bradley fight at the Capiz Gym and at Dinggoy Civic Center provided by the provincial government.
