Local News: Cash and ‘Shabu’ Seized in Drug Bust
Two small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and more than P2,000 cash were confiscated from a resident of Brgy. 2 in Bacolod City following a drug raid conducted by the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSO-TG) and the Special Operations Group.
PSSupt. Ricardo T. De la Paz, director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported that CAIDSOTG and SOG headed by PSupt. Santiago Y. Rapiz conducted a buy bust operation at Purok Sigay, Brgy. 2 about 2:45PM, yesterday which resulted to the arrest of a suspected peddler and seizure of illegal drugs.
Police identified the suspect as Marialy Moncal, of Brgy. 2 and recovered from her possession 2 small sachets of suspected shabu, P200 marked bill used to bust her, drug paraphernalia and P2,510 cash believed to be proceeds from the drug deal.
She is presently detained at CAIDSOTG detention cell at BCPO headquarters for further examination.
Criminal charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against her in court.
Rapiz assured the conduct of more drug-related operations in the City and more apprehensions to lessen and eventually prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs. CAIDSOTG and SOG are also conducting information dissemination and educational campaign in different schools and barangays in the City about the ill-effects of drugs, details of RA 9165 and how to keep the youth away from involving in this kind of addiction.*
