Events: CNDR, Smart and Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City Cooperate for Disaster Preparedness
The Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) and leading wireless services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have partnered with the local government of Banago in Bacolod City to implement the Noah’s Ark program in the community.
Noah’s Ark is CNDR’s community preparedness program that aims to increase the capacities of local government units and high-risk communities to cope with the hazards of flooding.
Under the agreement which was signed recently at Domingo Lacson National High School (DLNHS), CNDR through the funding from Smart will train local government officials and volunteers on setting up systems and procedures on community flood early warning system, communication protocols and evacuation procedures.
The Noah’s Ark project in Banago is part of the citywide agreement signed by CNDR and Smart with Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia in March this year.*
