Local News: Cop Detains Man for ‘Non-Support’ of Family
A 34-year old resident of Silay City voluntarily turned himself in, Friday to local police authorities for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women Act of 2004.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) report said that Kenneth Lim, of Brgy. Lantad, Silay City surrendered to PO2’s Ian J. Libo-on and Robert Roy Lanaza at about 3PM, Friday when he learned about the pending order of arrest against him.
The order was issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 40-Silay City Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio on October 17, 2011 for violation of RA 9262 and for allegedly withdrawing financial support for his family in criminal case number 8571-40.
A bail bond amounting to P12, 000 was recommended for his temporary release. He is presently detained at Silay City Police Station and will be endorsed to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility.* (RRM)
