Local News: BISHOP BARES RESHUFFLE OF PRIESTS IN BACOLOD

Msgr. Pasquin Named New Vicar General

Bishop Vicente M. Navarra yesterday officially announced a major reshuffle of assignments for the clergy of the Bacolod Diocese affecting all the vicariates and parishes from Victorias City down to Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

According to the Bacolod bishop, the reshuffle was effected following a thorough study, reflection and consultation, considering the time that took him to finalize the list. He also talked with the priests involved and had therefore listened well to guide him in his decision.

Named the new Vicar General and Vicar Forane of the Diocese, according to the Bacolod prelate, is Rt. Rev. Msgr. Felix P. Pasquin, who is concurrent Rector of the San Sebastian Cathedral. He also heads the Diocesan Commission on Social Communications.

The new Vicar General has a wealth of experience in ecclesial services and church activities, having served various Diocesan commissions, notably that of social communications, also as parish priest of different churches and parish centers like Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, Airport; St. Jude Thaddeus Shrine, Alijis; and San Diego Pro-Cathedral, Silay City, among others.

Also announced by the Bacolod bishop during holy mass he solemnized at the Cathedral on Pentecost Sunday were the new assignments of Rev. Fr. Mitchell J. Guadalupe, Oeconomas; Rev. Fr. Segundo E. Chua III, Chancellor-Secretary; Rt. Rev. Msgr. Victorino A. Rivas, Judicial Vicar; Rev. Fr. Dominic M. Derramas, Asst. Judicial Vicar; and the Seminary Formators, composed of Very Rev. Fr. Louie P.
