Events: Gov. Marañon Releases P6.7M for Barangay Projects
Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. released checks worth a total of P6,710,000 to fund the various projects of the different barangays in the province, in a turn over ceremony held at the Governor’s Office, yesterday.
Brgy. Buenavista, Escalante City received P2,000,000 for the concrete paving of roads from Brgy. Buenavista Proper to Bonista Beach Resort; Brgy. Washington, also of Escalante City received P550,000 for the rehabilitation of the Pipe Tubes of the Water System.
Brgy. Minapasuk, Municipality of Calatrava received P10,000 for the Sports and Cultural activities of Sitio Passing Track; Brgy. Zone III, Cadiz City received P1,000,000 for the purchase of parcel of land; Brgy. Vito, Sagay City received P20,000 for their Annual Barangay Day Celebration and General Assembly; and Brgy. Baliwagan, Municipality of San Enrique received P300,000 for the construction of their new barangay health center.
For the Municipality of Pulupandan, Brgy. Crossing received 120,000 for the renovation of barangay health center and purchase of complete set of computer, office table and chairs; Brgy. Culo received P120,000 for the improvement of their barangay hall and cultural stage, and acquisition of a computer set; Brgy. Mabini received P120,000 for the construction of benches and basketball court, repair of perimeter fence, and rehabilitation of cultural stage; Brgy. Pag-ayon received P120,000 for the improvement of cultural stage, repair of basketball court pavement, and drilling of artesian well; Brgy. Palaka Norte received P 120,000 for the improvement of barangay hall and basketball court pavement, and purchase of furniture and fixtures; Brgy. Palaka Sur received P120,000 for the construction of barangay hall, perimeter fence of the basketball court, and purchase of computer; Brgy. Patic received P 120,000 for the construction of foot walk, and waiting shed and drilling of artesian well; Brgy. Tapong received P120,000 for the improvement of barangay hall and cultural stage, and installation of streetlights; Brgy. Ubay received P420,000 for the construction of perimeter fence and installation of streetlights; and Brgy. Utod received P120,000 for the improvement of barangay hall and construction of welcome arc as well as repair of the perimeter fence of basketball court.
Meanwhile, the Municipality of Moises Padilla received P500,000 for the construction of a day care center at Brgy. Inolingan; P325,000 for the Municipality of Hinoba-an for the Feed Stuff Processing Project and Animal Concentrate Project; P500,000 for the Municipality of Ilog for the construction of day care center in Brgy. Manalad; and P5,000 for the annual fiesta celebration of the Brgy. Cabadiangan, Sipalay City.
Gov. Marañon advised them to implement the projects efficiently in order to receive more projects from the provincial government in the future.
The various projects were part of the provincial government’s thrust to develop the countryside. The checks were personally received by the barangay captains, treasurers, and representatives of different local government units.*(Capitol News)
