Events: Lions Council Of Presidents Elect Officers

The Council of Lions Clubs Presidents of Negros recently elected Dr. Eriberto Layda as chairman for Lion year 2012-2013. Layda is past president of Bacolod City Host Lions Club. Other officers elected are: Joemarie Guanzon of Kabankalan Lions Club as executive vice-chairman; Elaine Montelibano of Silay Kansilay Lions Club as Vice-Chairman - North; Demetrio Ruiz, Vice-Chairman - South; Eusebio Marañon, Vice-Chairman - Central; Rosemarie Araneta, secretary, Dr. Leonilo del Carmen, treasurer.

The elections were held during a regular meeting of the council last May 7, 2012 at Sugarland Hotel. The committee on elections were composed of past district governor Raymund Tongson as chairman with members Rene Novero and Atty. Alfonso Manayon. The newly-elected officers will serve their terms beginning July 1, 2012.*

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the Locale of Tangub and other locales in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, are inviting the public to their ‘Pamamahayag’, during which they will present the teachings and doctrines of the INC. The Pamamahayag will be held at 7PM on Monday January 9 and on Tuesday 10 at the Tangub chapel and in other locale chapels. Those interested to listen can just come and be guests.
