Local News: Cops Nab ‘Robber’ for Gun

A suspected robber was arrested by elements of the 2nd Maneuver Platoon of Public Safety Company, Wednesday morning in Manapla town, Negros occ.

PO2 Rogler Bulaclac, of the Regional Public Safety Battalion 6 along with his troops were conducting a combat patrol in the area of Hacienda Cambocao 1, Brgy. San Pablo, Manapla for violation of Republic Act (RA) 8294 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions.

Joebert Bustamante, 23, was arrested for having in his possession a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunitions tucked in the waist of his pants.

The suspect was also positively identified by Eduardo Dequito, Christopher Cabadillo and Jimmy Suanico as one of the nine persons who robbed them last April 21, 2012, 6PM at Hacienda Torino in Brgy. Caduhaan, Cadiz City.

The victims told police probers that Bustamante along with his peers took P30,000 cash and cellular phones.

Bustamante is presently detained and will face several criminal charges in court.*
