Barangay Estefania chess patrons is in for a treat as the Barangay Estefania Chess Tournament unfolds on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 at the village’s conference hall, dubbed as "Dali na, Chess Ta!".

Bankrolled by Barangay Estefania Sanguniang Kabataan (SK) headed by its chairman Karen Villarosa in cooperation with the barangay council, the tournament will have three categories - the Open, high school/out of school youth and the elementary/out of school youth.

Tournament director Dante Albao said that hosting this event intends to promote chess awareness among the residents of this barangay as well as involve them in various sports activities. Moreover, this tournament also aims to foster camaraderie and harmonious relationship among the participants, and enhance the chess talents among the competitors.

He further disclosed that P2,000 & a trophy will be awarded to the winner in the Open category while P1,500 & a trophy for the high school division, and P1,000 & a trophy for the elementary category.

A registration of P100 is pegged for the Open division while P50 for the high school and elementary divisions.
